About Galtres Centre
The Galtres Centre in York is a purpose-built community hub with a sports hall, fitness gym and tennis courts, alongside a stage-equipped hall used for live events and music. Snooker is listed among its activities, though the venue is better described as a multi-purpose centre than a snooker club, and the cue table is only one part of what it offers.
Visitors mention the theatre and entertainment space, meeting rooms and a rifle club that uses modern range facilities on site. Reviewers also comment on friendly staff and volunteers and on convenient parking, and one visitor described a booking problem with a snooker session, so anyone planning a visit may wish to confirm a table in advance.

Before you visit
Most snooker clubs charge by the hour per table, and many are members' clubs that ask non-members to sign in or pay a small day fee. Our guide to joining a snooker club covers what to expect, and the snooker rules guide is a quick refresher.
